Conditioning?

I have a happy little Singer Diana "Electronic 560" sitting here in my room. My mum let me have it since she hasn't used it in years. She says it needs to conditioned before I can try to use it, though. Well, it's been months and no sewing machine conditioning. I am sad. I am also curious about how much it normally costs to get your machine conditioned?
