beginner's knitting question.
Dec. 19th, 2003 04:28 pmOk, so I bought myself an "I taught myself KNITTING" book at Michael's. Yay for the 40% off coupon btw.. it cost $9.99, and then I bought mini-ornaments for my mini-tree which were on sale at 40% off and my total price came out to like, $9.73. I felt good. Ha ha.
ANYWAY, I struggled for a second, but I think I'm going fairly quickly at this. Probably because I know how to crochet, so that knowledge is helping. I've just cast on 20 stitches (HOORAH!) and completed one row of the knit stitch.
...
NOW what? It says to do the next row, "simply" turn the work around until the right side is facing me.
(BTW, I'm teaching myself continental style.)
All the stitches went from the left needle to the right needle. So they're sittin' there on the right needle. Does that mean I just switch needles in my hands, so the stitches are on the left again, and then work it from there? I don't quite understand what to do next.
