SILK SCREENING!
Sep. 11th, 2002 11:43 pmi read a zine the other day where a girl wrote out instructions for very easy & cheap silk screening she learnt to do.
i would scan in it, but it's very simple to explain.
what you need:
- wood : to make a square frame with
- old curtains/ drapery - go to value village and get some screeny material
- waterproof glue
- a stapler
- your acrylic paints / ink
1) make a wood frame
2) staple the screen TIGHTLY onto the frame. very very carefully.
3) take the design you want and trace or draw it onto the screen. fill in all the parts of the screen with glue, or duct tape that you don't want ink to go through.
4) put your paint on the screen and sweep it over the surface. you need something to do this smoothly. a scrape-y thing.
that's all!
