I made my version of the GAP hat I wanted to make. :)

Alright! I was too excited about the GAP hat and wanting to make it. I was planning on knitting it and it went by so slowly. I went to the GAP with the boyfriend and took a look at it again and decided if it was on sale, I'd buy it. No way is the hat cute enough for me to pay $19.50 though. Perhaps I shall hit the GAP again during the post-Christmas sales and pick it up then.
So, I went to Michael's and bought some white Lionbrand Microspun yarn. I figure sportweight is thick enough to work up fast, but not too thick that the hat will be unfloppy. It worked okay. While there, I picked up another skein of the blue Microspun also and then I remembered I still had orange (mango?) at home. Oh yeah, I also bought a pom pom maker because I could not figure out how to make them for the life of me.
I had just finished a pair of armwarmers to match my contrasting colors in clusters scarf. The armwarmers are just plain blue and orange striped; 3 rows of sc in each color repeatedly, and thumbholes!

I decided to do my version of the GAP hat in blue and orange to match everything else -- so I can wear it today :) Teehee. Couldn't sleep last night and did the most part of it yesterday, but finished the rest (adding the tassels/pompoms, weaving in ends) this morning when I woke up (and would've rather slept, but could not, grr). I'm happy with the outcome -- I could've made it a bit looser perhaps; I should've started off with a bigger chain, but at least it fits me! Yay!

Everything was made with a H crochet hook and Lionbrand Microspun yarn. Total cost of set = roughly $10 + lots of hours. :)
