craftgrrl | Pet sweaters/clothes (Reply)

I've read through the faq and couldn't find anything under pets or sewing. So I decided to ask
My boyfriend's cat is smaller than average, still gets kitten comments although he's an adult. He's also got short fur, and since he loves being outside around town on his harness with us, he gets cold. I'm planning to make a little jacket out of fleece for him, sort of like those sweaters you can buy. But I'm not sure about how to fix it on him, especially between the front legs. I'm planning to use velcro, for easy release in case he was to become stuck somewhere. Does anyone happen to have a pattern and/or picture of a similar jacket or outfit? Or any helpful hints or websites? I've been looking on google and not having much luck.
I can knit, but I don't know the names of the actual stitches I do, so it's hard to read directions, so I'm hoping for a sewing pattern..although a knitted drawn picture (the outline or body shape of what I'm going for) would be helpful as well.
