I want to sew an underbust corset using this pattern.

I plan to modify the boning, and instead make 2 different peices, one the outer and one the inner, and sew those together. Instead of boning with plastic or steel, I have been researching boning with hemp cording, and what I was planning on doing was sewing along each seam 4 channels to thread the hemp through.

However, while I was working it all out just a short while ago, I realized that there is a flaw in my plan.



Is it posible to sew on the seam to make those 2 center channels?"

I would appreciate any help or thoughts on what i could do, as well as any other ideas for the corset.. thanks... I really like the idea, and as Im almost done with a vest at the moment, I need another project to start soon..
