Golden Book Journals
Jan. 5th, 2004 10:08 pmHey there. I made some of these journalsCLICK HERE FOR PIC and the people I gave them to liked them I think. This one is probably the least creative, but I gave all the good ones away for Christmas. (This one is mine). I get the books at St. Vinnies, and cut the spine off with a razor blade. Then I punch some 5.5 x 7.5 inch paper (cut for like $2 at kinkos) with my regular hole puncher. I lined it up on the cover, marked where the holes should be and drilled through with a 1.4" drill bit. Then I went over the cover holes again with a manual hand puncher to smooth out the edges. In some, I put all the pages of the book, to be used as section dividers. In others, I collaged pics from the book, and cut them with jagged overhanging edges so they stuck out past the regular pages. Then I put the whole thing together with loose leaf rings 1" or 1.5" depending on the amount of paper. Add some glitter to the cover, and you're all set to go. They're fun to make. Sorry if they're too stupid for the craft club. I like 'em and I'm proud. Thought I would share. Thanks. :)
