I was inspired by this post, featuring a "muppet" scarf, to post a costume I did for our Renaissance Festival's "Day of Wrong" this past October.

"Day of Wrong" is a day, randomly chosen by a group of hard-core Rennies, to wear garb that is inherenly WRONG in some manner--be it style, color, or farbic selection. PIcs of all our group's costumes can be found here....

...but I went as the Muppet Slayer. :)

See, I was inspired by a bolt of fabric I found in the $1/yard section at JoAnn's. It was very, very orange... and very, very fuzzy. Like bad 70's shag carpeting. I think we HAD this color carpet growing up. I held it up to my boyfriend, who exclaimed in mock horror - "It looks like you killed a Muppet".

So, the muppet fur became a skirt. I found some hideously tacky pink and orange floral rayon print for the chemise... and some great magenta wool for the bodice. Wool is period, isn't it? *grin*

Top it off with little wicker cages, complete with tiny Muppets. I started out with Animal, the Sweedish Chef and Beaker... but the Chef escaped sometime during the day. We "Borked" our way around faire, trying to find the missing Chef. Yeah, we're wierd. ;)
