Here's the predicament:

I am making an elizabethan corset out of dupionni silk that's quilted with gold thread for the boning chanels. For some added interest I was thinking of spray painting gold over a doily and getting the silhoette of it on the corset (photo behind cut). I tested the idea out and I like the effect however the paint colour does not match the gold binding very well and I am afraid of making the corset look cheap and shotty. So I need some ideas and suggestions on whether I should:

a) bone it, bind it, grommet it, and call it a day.

b) mix up some acrylic and fabric medium til I find that one perfect colour to stamp onto the fabric using the doily (may not work).

c) or some other amazing surface decoration you can think of.

I appreciate any ideas or imput from the masses.

thanks!
