v-day gift question

so for valentine's day I'm making my boyfriend a "message in a bottle" type thing like the ones on www.timelessmessage.com...

my problem is that first I don't know what I should use for paper. I was thinking maybe to just take computer paper and make it look old by burning the edges and coloring on it, but do you craftsters have any other ideas? also, I'm stumped for a message. I'm guessing i'll just have to write something myself but I want to include a really nice lovey-dovey quote as well. any suggestions?
