taggie blanket pattern or ideas

I want to make one of these for our son, and perhaps a few more to sell...

I can't find a pattern online and don't have a sewing machine, so I am thinking a couple of squares of the polar fleece and stitch around the outside and then turn it inside out so the loops stick out.
