magnetic fairy doll
Feb. 14th, 2004 11:58 pmI've had the idea for a while, and finally got around to doing it. This is a present for a friend. It's a modified form of a paper doll: drawn, scanned, photoshop colored, and printed on magnetic printer sheets. here she is hangin' out on the fridge:

and this is a .jpg of the set itself, pre-printing

The colors came out a bit darker on the magnet sheet, so I lost a bit of detailing, but it's still pretty cool, if I do say so myself. There's also some weird interaction between the magnetic fairy and her magnetic clothes, so her top keeps trying to fly off and her wig keeps sliding over her eyes. I think I may just print a good quality paper version of the fairy itself and glue it into an aol tin (which is how I'm sending her to my friend). The magnets are weak anyway and she needs to be on something else magnet-receptive to really work. much fun.
