Feb. 15th, 2004 03:54 pmHello! I got a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Valentine's Day, and I know I want to do something with them but I'm not sure what yet. I have quite a few dried flowers but it seems like they tend to just sit in a vase in my room and get dusty and then eventually i accidently hit one or something and it breaks. With the last bouquet of flowers I got, I put some in a frame with some tissue paper behind it, so it was this kind of 3D thing. It was really cute, but I don't really want to do that again, and I was only able to use like one flower and some baby's breath, when I would prefer to be able to keep the majority of these flowers--not just one or two. So does anyone have any suggestions? Either on an alternative to drying flowers or what to do with the dried flowers? I did check the FAQ, and I got some ideas, which actually stemmed some other questions. In one entry it talked about microwaving the flowers. Exactly what kind of an effect does that have on the flowers? Also, for pressing flowers....can you really press roses and big full flowers like that? How exactly do you do it? I'd think it would just smoosh it and make it really ucky. Most of the bouquet is roses, carnations, and lilies (if I'm guessing correctly!), do those flowers really press that well? I can understand pressing really thin flowers like daisies or something but I'm having a hard time imagining it with roses. Thank you so much for your advice!
