knitting plastic bag purses

craftgrrlI know that plastic bag purses have been discussed before (like here : here), but what I've seen are only crocheting instructions. Does anyone know of directions for knitting the purses? Or if it's even possible? I don't know how to crochet, only knit, but I want to make one quite badly.
(p.s. I was lucky enough to find one for 75 cents at a thrift shop and I have never gotten so many compliments on a bag before.)
