ok, i bought a white machine and while it seems easy enough i now can't sew a straight stitch for longer than 1 sec (no exaggerating) before the thread jams. i honestly cannot find a reason for this. please help if at all possible

p.s. the machine is brand new, manual is crap and this is xposted to sew_hip
