Feb. 26th, 2004 01:20 amWell, we've finally got a digital camera, and I finally have found a semi-reliable image host, so at last I can actually post something here! Rather timely, I'd say, since I'm trying to get my business going (hand-made original and custom crafts and artistic services). So, in any case, here is some evidence that I exist and I make pretty things. :-)

That's me (only fair..I see you all the time) in my wedding dress. I designed it, compiled/combined/adjusted pieces from about 9 different patterns to make the pattern for it, found all the fabrics and trims...and had to hire a seamstress to put it all together and fit it to me, because, dern it...I had enough to do, and it is rather hard to fit a wedding dress to yourself, in any case! ::laughs::
We had a Medieval/Renaissance themed wedding, the florals of which were roses and ivy, and the colors of which were rose and green. Back then a bride would never have worn a white gown (they believed it would have attracted malevolent spirits jealous of the joys of the living), but my parents, funding the exploit at the time, could not be convinced that historical accuracy was any good reason for me to come down the aisle in something like burgundy. And so, I compromised...I used a white, rose-brocade satin, a rose and green tapestry fabric, rose woven ribbon trim, and beaded green ivy-shaped applique.
Seeing as one of the things I plan to offer is costume/garb design, beading, and seamstressery...what do you think? :-)
