My first sweater
Feb. 27th, 2004 06:14 pmSo, I've been knitting for almost three weeks now, and I just finished my first kid's sweater and hat in the round for my three year old son.

The hat has the cutest corkscrews on it.

It's not perfect, of course, but I'm pretty pleased with it for a first sweater. It was a learning experience.
I made it from this pattern. It has 3/4 sleeves, but I wanted full length sleeves. In retrospect, I should have narrowed the sleeve width, as they're too wide as full sleeves. I also made them a bit *too* long, hence the rolled cuffs.
I knitted the hat in the round, even though the pattern was for a flat piece, just because I wanted to knit in the round. I found it very, very easy and enjoyable. I'm going to make another hat tonight.
