craftgrrl | Bleh..super last minute

My youth leader of my church is stepping down from his posistion of head High school minister/pastor type thing. I'm really close to him. I use to live with him and his wife for a few months during a hard time in my life.
My church is throwing a suprise going away party thing for him tommorow night. They asked me and a few other students to speak at it. Last minute, it kind of hit me I should probably make/get him something. I'd rather make him something.
My ideas are present him with some kind of cheesey gift with my speech, or just make him a nice something to include with his other gifts he'll be recieving.
He's going into wood work, if that helps. I was thinking maybe some kind of fake trophy that has to do with his new or old work? I would need good ideas how to do that though.
An obvious idea would be to dig up old pictures, memorable items and stuff that I have collected over the 5 years of knowing him and make some kind of frame or collage to give him. But that's so uncreative.
Is there anything else I could do creative with pictures? A photo cube? Something that reflects his new job?
