painting with koolaid.

craftgrrli've dyed wool roving with koolaid before & felted it, but i've never tried to dye yarn. here is my first try with yarn "harvested" from unravelled thriftshop sweater one.

the next batch (sweater two in the photo, i'm going to leave sweater three as is since i do love the green) i am just going to do solid colours because the yarn is darker and won't take "painting" so well. now i just have to figure out what i'm going to do with all this stuff since i estimated the yardage from just sweater one to be around 770yds. & i certainly don't want to make another sweater. hehe.
