Mar. 13th, 2004 08:39 pmSo my boyfriend and I collaborated on the most awesome present in the world...a PADDLE. We made it for a friend's birthday, but still have to finish it up. I need some help though. The paddle is made and painted, but I wanted to add studs on parts of it. I'm wondering what should I use/how should I do it? The paddle itself is made out of solid maple, and painted with a coat of white spray primer. What studs can I use on wood, where can I get them, and how would I affix them? This will definitely be used, so they have to be practical, not just decorative. I'm at a loss. Also, any other suggestions on what I could add to it? I'm going to wrap the handle in leather, but that's as far as I've gotten.
Also, what coating should I use on it? The image is a sticker printed from my ink jet printer, so I don't want to use anything that might make it run or smear. Would spray lacquer work, or is there something else I should use?

Me and the paddle, taken at 4:30 a.m., after a long, long night. It's kind of a bad picture of the paddle itself, but the only one I've got right now. Somebody help me.
