improvements to the boxy purse...
Mar. 13th, 2004 09:38 pmsome of you may remember me posting this purse i made a few weeks ago. and some of you wanted to try one of your own, so i gave instructions...

same size, same measurements, basically the same bag...but this time in a sage green kind of distressed denim with pink floral lining.

...but, i did the liner differently...i liked it better this way, and i didn't want to the bag to rely on sturdy liner for structural soundness so...

...i sewed plastic canvas into the bottom and front and back!...no interfacing in the liner this time. this purse is STURDY as anything now. i imagine it could probably support the weight of a large chihuahua, if you're into carrying your dog around with you. :}

the pretty fabric i used on the inside. i'm so in love with it!

and i hope you can see it, but i bought jeans thread...coats and clark brand...and used that for the top closing seam. i used ordinary off-white cotton thread for my bobbin, because the jeans thread is surprisingly thick, and i didn't want it to show too much on the lining.
