Art Show and a Coffee Shop
Mar. 25th, 2004 01:03 pmAt my school, we are having an art show. It's not just a hang your artwork up and stare at it show. It's a make a 3D installation and incorporate your artwork into it. Here is what I am thinking and I would love any spinoffs of this and any ideas you might have as to how to construct it. I am going to make mine like a little cafe with refreshments and a "menu" that lists and describes each piece of my artwork. I want to construct an arch that looks like a window and on the other side of it have some artwork floating and in the background layers of blue acetate or something shiny and dark blue with little lights so it looks like a starry night. I want the whole thing to be very dream like and surreal but I haven't gotten any farther than this. The area I have to work with is brick walls with ceiling tiles, so anything I do I basically construct or use fabric. Any ideas?! PS I have no money, so anything you suggest should ideally be something I could find at good will and tamper with or something I could complete contstruct from home. So think really creative! Thanks so much!
