i would very much like to try making my own prom dress although i've only sewn a few small things in the past like pillows, pj shorts and skirts. my only problem is that i have a pretty poor sewing machine and am afraid that it would not be able to tackle something too complex. while browsing some fashion websites, i spotted the number below (in the foreground) and got very excited at the prospect of making something similar. my question is, do any of you know of patterns that look like the dress below? and do you think it would be very difficult to make? also, i was curious about how i can make the skirt of the dress so "poofy" without wearing a petticoat...
