Jersey into a cute top!

Look at what I made Saturday. I was cleaning out the closet and I found this HUGEEEEE basketball jersey that's been in there for like 2-3 years and I dont think Ive EVER wore it. So I cut it up, sewed (sp?) it back together a diff way, took in the sides then added the trim back on and look what I made. There was extra material from the sides & a little trim too so I made a wrist warmer. I'm happy with it. I think it turned out ok. Excuse the bra showing lol I would wear this shirt with a black spaghetti strap shirt under, not just a hoochie bra but I just put it on quick last night before bed for the pic. I found some other shirts that are ca-ca so Im going to be cutting them up too.

Also does anyone know a good community that is basically a knitting for beginners? I want to learn how but I've NEVER tried.
Anyway, here's the shirt. It was my first shirt project so please be nice
