Bookmaking!
Apr. 22nd, 2004 07:48 pmEvery year my school has 2 weeks before spring break called "Special Programs". During special programs we sign up for various activies. This year a group went to spain, another to costa rica, some people did oil painting and i did bookmaking! A lot of the people in the group weren't exactly the most enthusiastic about bookmaking but why did they choose it then?
Anyway. here are some pictures of some of the books I made and also some that my friend lauren did. These pictures are pretty big, sorry.

at first it was just a big table of paper. a lot of paper. yay paper.

but after some work....

and some more.....

I made a lot of books!

so did lauren

closeups of my two favorite books. the one with the pirate page is a scrapbook for my boyfriend for our six month anniversary. and the second one is made with fabric we backed with paper using wheat paste. it was exciting.

closeups of laurens favorite book. her cover and end paper were also fabric we backed with paper using wheat paste.

we also went on a trip to magnolia editions and they taught us how to make paper.
Bookmaking was so exciting. i took a lot of paper home so i can do my own thing at home. anyway, just thought i'd share.
