Hello all -- when looking for communities devoted to Chciago area stitchers and/or stitch n bitches I just couldn't find any. Maybe they are hiding out. Under names I just didn't think of?

Does anyone here know of or belong to such a community?

I have created a community called

chicago_stitch for Chicago area knitters, crocheters, needlepointers, cross stitchers, etc etc etc. The end point being to hopefully get info about Chicago snb's and/or set some up. I can stitch at my LNS but it's mostly older grandmothers doing patterns that don't interest me, and it's usually JUST needlepoint or JUST cross stitch...not a variety.

Anyways...if anyone here is from the Chicago area, please consider joining (there's nothing up there now, I JUST created it). If you're not from Chicago you're welcome too, but like I said the topics will be of interest to locals.

If anyone on here is a member of knitting or crochet or needlepoint or heck ANY needle arts communities on LJ and the mod there permits it, I'd love it if you'd please cross post. It seems rude to join a knitting community when I don't knit, for example, just to promote another community. I am waiting for the stitch community mods to get back to me now so I can ask permission to post. But I just really, really want to meet other Chicago area needle crafters.
