Due to my recent flood of posts regarding my cheap-o "silk screening" I said I would post again and explain my process. I also finally set the last shirt and made two new ones...

I used a clear, good contrast, picture of my duck, Mr. Limpy, that visits our backyard every day...

Using Microsoft Paint I copied the image and saved it as a Monochrome Bitmap file, making it only black and white (I also added "duck." to it)...

After printing that out I took my $1.29/yard tulle and $0.67 embroidery hoop from Hobby Lobby and pulled the fabric tight and screwed the hoop closed. I traced the image onto the tulle with a pencil and used my cheap paint brushes with Modge Podge to cover up the white spaces of the image. I waited a day for the glue to dry since I laid it on thick.

I centered the stencil onto my t-shirt and using Speedball's brand "Fabric Screen Print Ink" I carefully and slowly brushed the ink over the open spaces, making sure to hold the hoop firmly down and in place and also making sure not to push the paint accidently under the glue in places it didn't belong. Once I was done with the ink I rinsed out the screen to make sure not to ruin it so I can make many more duck shirts (like anyone but me and my mom are going to want one, haha).

I waited a day and ironed the shirts with paper between the medium-setting heat and the ink, as the instructions say, and ta-da!
