Ok, does anyone have tips for cleaning silver, getting rid of potential rust?


Yesterday at the thrift store I acquired a lovely silver plated goblet that on the bottom is stamped 'made in Spain'

After cleaning it lightly with soap and water, and then with a bit of baking soda I realized there is a bit of a rough spot that looks like rust/oxidization. Is there any way to get rid of this, and then to somehow seal up the weak spot?
