i saw an interesting wall light made on one of the craft shows the other night, and i thought i would share:

items:
vellum
stencil
glass plate
hot glue
press-lite/push light/closet light (i'm sorry i don't know if there is an official name. if you google them all, you should be able to see what i'm talking about).

1. stencil something pretty to the vellum (they had some color vellum, if you can get your hands on it). which side you stencil determines how crisp/soft the image appears.

2. glue the finished stencil to the glass plate (i'm not exactly sure what they used to attach the two, but it has to dry clear).

3. hot glue the glassed-stencil to the one-push-light and hang it on the wall.

3a. they did three of these with slightly similar designs. it looked soft and lovely.

if anyone's made any of these and you have photos, it'd be great to see it.

they used japanese symbols, but all sorts of things would look great: any cultural symbols, fairies, famous faces, original designs, etc.

also, is it possible to change the color of vellum using watercolors or dyes?

thanks and sorry if this is a project that has been posted a lot.
