here's my secret.
May. 11th, 2004 06:04 pmOkay, this may seem a little odd to some people (especially if you're allergic to bees). But, today as I was cleaning the side porch and I found this dead bee. Well, I set him to the side, went back out later and was trying to think of what I could do with him. Originally, I was thinking of a 3-D piece of art, but then it hit me. I had some hair clips I was looking to embelish. So, I super-glued a flat metal bead to the bottom of the bee, then glued that on the hair clip. It's a lot sturdier than it looks, you just have to be careful as the bee is quite fragile (especially the wings). My friend and I are on a mission to make more of these. So, I hope someone appreciates my crazy craft endeavors! Oh, and the orange would be from a highlighter, I figured it could use a bright colour to stand out among my dark hair.

edit://I should have mentioned this originally. Yes, It sounds/is kind of morbid.....but, if you have something to say about wearing a bee in my hair being weird, then oh well. I think it's a very creative idea and am not looking for bad critisim here (I hate how everytime I post something here I always get such negative comments). And I already took the stinger out. And no, I'm not worried about what's going to happen to as far as falling apart goes. I'll keep it until I see any signs that it's getting gross/falling apart/etc. Thanks for the concern though.
