poster board fairy wings

I'm making wings to go along with my fairy horns (http://www.livejournal.com/community/faeriefashion/388670.html#cutid1) to wear at prom tomorrow :) I wanted them to look really detailed (kind of shaped like these ones: http://www.firefly-path.com/picview.php?image=chimage.php?image=snow2.jpg) but I wanted them to be smaller than that and the wire I had wasn't bendy enough for it to work. So I tried to find better wire but there wasn't any so I decided to try to make them out of a poster board base, with wire suport and fabric over the poster board instead. It worked suprisingly well. I'll post a tutorial on how exactly I did it once I have pictures of them.


Well not really a picture since I really just put the wing on my scanner :) It's actually not even that big. It's about the size of my hand.

My prom wings are a lot bigger and more detailed. I'll post pics of those once I get them developed.
