I have commisioned my friend ladyedaoin to crochet me a hat and scarf combo with a detachable flower because I myself am not as gifted with the hook as she is. I want the hat and scarf to be striped, but it's a particular kind of stripe. I have seen it done but I think it was an afghan that someone had made a long time ago. anyway. this is sort of what it looks like:



and the brow would be the "background" color. and I'm seeing it in double crochet so it isn't as tightly crochetd as the picture. does anyone know what I am talking about?

and as for the flower, how would you girls suggest attaching the flower? I want to be able to take it off and put it on the hat or the scarf.
