no pictures for this one, but descriptions behind the cut...

i know quite a few people that are sick right now and i wanted to send them something different besides a "get well" card.

i took wax paper and old crayons and ironed the shavings (using construction paper to protect the iron and the board).

once i had results that i liked, i cut them into odd shapes that best captured the color.

after that, i skimmed through an old national geographic and found a slightly abstract photograph and cut it to fit the envelope i would be sending (blue-ish picture went with yellowish shape and so on for contrasting colors).

then, i figured out where the stain glass shape would look best, and cut a hole in the picture (slightly smaller than the original shape).

i taped the shape to the back of the picture. glue might be more effective, but I didn't have any available.

last, i wrote the word "strength" across the stain glass. oh, and i decorated the envelope to match the card.

it is a stunning effect that is quite fun to create.

please let me know if any of this is confusing, as it is a bit harder to explain without pictures.

also, i did not put a backing, so if they put it in a window the images or words from behind will shine through. i liked this effect, but if you do not, backing can be added (but remember to cut a hole so the sun can still hit the shape).
