Decoupage eyeglass case

craftgrrlI couldn't find this in the memories sections, so hopefully I didn't just miss it: I'm planning on decoupaging some old hard eyeglass cases (like these:
), but they have a fabric liner inside. Does anyone have any advise on how to get around that? Do you just cut your paper/fabric at the edge, and if so, do you how would you finish it at the edges? Do you think I should just try to take out the fabric lining and put in a new one?
