[identity profile] geninfilth.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
So here's what I've been up to the past 2 weeks:

I got some ideas for project 1 & 4 from people in this community! I love this community you guys are so great! So helpful and many wonderful creative ideas!

Project #1: Tim Burton Mystery Table

My mom asked me if I wanted this table. It was plain wood and I thought that for the new apt, I could use as much furniture as I could get! So I decided that I would paint it, but I wasn't sure what to paint on it. Then someone in [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl suggested that I do the legs with black and white spirals! and then I decided to do the top that way and ta da! The only thing is that it's not perfect, it's very messy, the lines aren't straight etc, but I kinda like it that way!

Project #2: Homespun yarn b/w blanket; crochetted.

I thought it would be cool to make myself a blanket. I've done 2 scarves, so why not try something else? This yarn is SUPER soft and it's going to make a great blanket :]

Project #3: Navy blue scarf for friend; crochetted.

This is the second scarf I've done and I can't seem to get the ends straight! This picture sucks. I wanted to make something for my friend for his graduation and I know a scarf is unfit for summer but still :/ Navy blue is his favorite color. It's not finished yet. I still need to trim it.

Project #4: Sewing themed windchimes for friends

I wanted to make them something for graduation plus since they're moving to a place with a backyard that they want to utilize, I figured an outdoor gift would be perfect. Again, someone in craft girl suggested making them out of crochet hooks so I went to town! I went into A.C.Moore looking for metallic metal sewing themed objects. I choose crochet hooks, bobbins, paintbrushes, thimbles and a big safety pin. I also bought a cheap windchime and took it apart and used the 4 metal hollow rods.

Can you tell they liked it? YAY!!! :D

Project #5: Black pleat-like skirt

I tried to bunch it up to give it that ruffle/pleat effect. There is black mesh coming out the bottom. The top is kinda funky, I have to take it in yet.

Today or tomorrow I plan on making a bag out of gray corduroy pants and purple/grey/lavenderish canvas.
