minding my beeswax

craftgrrllast night i made my first ever candle with some melted beeswax i bought. i added 3 color chips and quite a few drops of grapefruit essential oil but all i smell is the beeswax, the color came out kind of blah (to me anyway).
does anyone have recommendations for good wax that changes color fairly easily and takes scents just as easily?
