This is the shirt that you get from Wet Seal for spending so much money that my boyfriend's mom gave me.
To small for her, but to big for me,

it used to have a be a tshirt type thing with a really low v-shaped neckline, which i could handle with it being big and my lack of chest.
At first I was going to make the part around the neck rounded and gather the v-part, but it looked somewhat frumpy.
I was originally going to make it into a halter after this, but decided that with my modest chest that a tank top was a safer move.
I took the shirt itself in and hemmed the top by embroidering with white thread and added the straps.
The straps were extra b&w fabric I had lying around and I alternated colors so that each strap is alternately 2/3 black and 1/3 white. I also made a black and white flower out of scrap fabric and attached it to the strap.
The flower is actually attached backwards then the way you would usually make one, but I like it better this way because the bulge looks like the center of the flower. :)

Yesterday I went to my boyfriend's grandparents 50th wedding anniversary party and wore this shirt and his mom and grandmother loved it! They were so cute and making a huge deal about that fact that that I designed/sewed it by hand.
