Hey chickadees! Well, school's out forever - highschool at least. Last time you guys heard from me was pre-blonde and post-my halter tutorial that was all the rage for about a week... I've been sewing feverishly (because of secret plans with [livejournal.com profile] sometimessuper and [livejournal.com profile] on_radar...) just keep your eyes peeled. *wink*
Anyway, on to the goods.

Someone used an elmo tee to make my halter and i was very envious - ironically, I ended up finding the same tee at the jewish thrift store about a week after the post! Not sure how great these pictures are, but i resized the once huge tshirt, then finished the collar and sleeves, and added a black strip of tshirt material to the bottom (it ties on the left side)

A 1350 and 4.25 GPA didn't get me into UF - but that won't stop me from tearing up their tshirts! This is just your run of the mill tshirt skirt. Used the florida shirt to make a tapered tube and a few strips from an orange tshirt for the pleats. Sadly, my booty is too ghetto for this little skirt and i probably won't wear it - unless I go to gator growl again this year!

I adore this tee because 1) the color combo and 2) it has a robot! I took it in on the sides, finished the collar and sleeves and again added a strip of fabric on the bottom to create a hem - it ties on the side.

Very simple. Took it in and finished the collar and sleeves. *smiles* Kiss of the spiderwoman.

I did not enjoy making this shirt a bit. It was strenuous and not fun. I basically cut two seperate tee's into the shape i wanted them, then cut the front side of each into five pieces and pinned and sewed alternating pieces together. The back of the shirt is all one color, the lighter blue. The collar and sleeves are finished and there is a strip of dark blue along the bottom. I have the pieces leftover to make another shirt like this but I really don't think I'll take advantage. I might have to experiment with this idea a little bit more because i like the effect, i just didn't like the method i did it with.

That's all as far as t-shirts, but you can definitely be expecting more from me soon: last night [livejournal.com profile] sometimessuper and i hit up the Rag Shop (the fancy craft/fabric store where I work) for the early bird sale.
Simplicity patterns for 99 cents each, totebags for 99 cents each, spray paint to decorate them (stencils anyone?) on sale for 33% off, new thread, bobbins, and polka dot fabric all 33% off. Whew. Summer vacay, here we come.
