concert creation
Jun. 3rd, 2004 11:13 pmI am slowly redecorating my room and I want to kind of give it the concert club venue vibe, so I figured I'd set the tone with this:

whoa what are you?
I made one of those memory boards with the ribbon crossing through it to stick pictures, memorabilia, notes, etc. between the ribbon. I made one once before for a friend using fabric, but this time I made a huge ass collage of flyers from a localish venue, xacto knife'd the edges, put them together, pinned them to the board, and Mod Podge'd them to act as a sealer. Then I pinned on the ribbon, and voila. I'm really pleased with the end result.

Closer details of the board:
[[sorry for the not so great quality, photobucket kind of funked them up]]

The board, standing up, with pictures and whatnot between the ribbon:

Can't wait til I put it up on my wall :) I am also thinking of doing the same thing with sheet music (random piano/guitar tabs, or maybe band music from when I was in high school). I'd imagine it would make a nice gift. I think the process is pretty self-explanitory but any questions, just comment and I will do my best to answer.
Also, like I said, I want to give my room a concert-vibe. Any (relatively cheap) suggestions? When I get some extra dollars, I'm going to finally frame some signed posters, and print copies of some concert photography at Kinkos. I also have a lot of band stickers taped to some poster board, any other ideas I could do with those? (I have entertained decoupaging them to my furniture or something, but I kind of want to leave them in their current condition in case I decide to use them for something in the future). I was also thinking of maybe putting up some white Christmas lights, but who knows. So if any of you have some quirky decorating tips and ideas, I'd appreciate the input. Thanks!
xoxo!
