Someone posted asking for photos of people's decorated wooden boxes. I'll take the opportunity to quit lurking and post!! I've been watching this community for more than a year now ( I comment a lot, but never post for real.) There are also photos of the fairy wings I made out of wire hangers and white nylons, and a project made out of Mardi Gras beads .
This one was inspired by these great religious stickers a friend gave me. I used regular craft paint, and copper tape for trim. I tried distressing this with my little dremel tool, but I got a bit carried away.

This one is decoupaged with pages from magazines. I used glossy mod podge, and had to cover the whole thing with a layer of saran wrap, because it stuck to everything it came into contact with.

The first one I ever did, more than ten years ago. The stickers came out of a machine at my favorite mexican food place in my hometown, San Diego

My favorite one! It was a box of chocolates. I used that envirotex stuff on it, so it's nice and glossy and plastic coated.

made with wire hangers, white nylons, a bunch of mangled paperclips, glitter, and some string

Cut up mardi gras beads, hot glued to a boring frame. Those were my first two cats, long gone.
