Maternity style summer top for a friend!
She's a hip young mum and the maternity store clothing just ISN'T hot enough basically. So i was drafted in to create something cute but practical....

Made with lightweight pure cotton, this top is one of the best i've made yet. The cotton itself is a pastle turquoise colour (duller than it appears in the picture) and only cost 50p (about $0.70) a yard!

The front has two pleates to give it a delicated shape but still leaving it free falling around the growing bump of a baby.

The back is open, with two hook and eyes to fasten it at the top, this is great for bump growth, there is a dart in each of the back sections to give it a little bit more of a flare and shape.

I'm not sure how she wants the straps, if at all, so im going to ask her about that. im also going to add some lace embellishment to the front in white, just to give it a bit more interest.

Comments and ideas appreciated!
