Hallo there! :-)
Nov. 6th, 2002 07:56 pmI've been on LJ for a few months now, and finally got lucky enough to discover this community. Although I won't be able to post anything interesting very soon, for lack of a digi-cam or scanner, I wanted to say hello, and tell you all how glad I am to find you. I'm a crafter in the worst way - everything from drawing to painting to woodwork to metalwork to beadwork to jewelry to sewing to clothing design to....you name it and give me the means and the materials, and I'll have fun with it! I've sold my creations before and have been told I aught to start selling them again - although I must say, I'm not expecting any commissions when you cannot even see what I do. Still...what kind of things are people interested in? O, not just to maybe buy, but to learn how to make, or get advice on matieral sources for?
That reminds me...I'll be moving to Chicago this Spring, with my husband. I'm looking forward to once again living in a place that might have crafting resources. (I used to live near NYC, where the Garment District was a very dangerous place for my credit card, and I had my choice of two metalworking studios to play in...now I live in a "city" with one tiny art supply store, that doesn't get much more intricate than paint and Sculpy.) Does anyone know where to look, in Chicago, for materials/tools/studio that let you play?
