::Machine needle for canvas::

I have been making and selling bags recently and I've been using thicker material like canvas.
The only problem is that I can't seem to find a machine needle thick enough to go through the canvas. I've actually broken 2 needles size 18/100 in 2 days :/
The woman at the store suggested 16/100 for denim but that's too thin! Can anyone tell me what size/type of machine needle I should use when working with canvas/duck cloth?
