Champagne Glasses

craftgrrlI have several champagne glasses that look like these:

And I would like to use them to hold pencils and pens. Kinda classy but not really. The only problem is that they look quite boring. I don't want to etch any design on the glass so Im not sure what I can do to make it look nicer. I thought maybe of wrapping ribbon around it(spiral design) but I couldn't it the ribbon to stay. So if you dudes have any ideas it would be appreciated. Thanks
