Winter hat/ear warmer help

I need help!!
I need a good crochet pattern for ear warmers. Forgive me, it is late and I cannot remember the name for them, if there even was a name.
They were the circle things, like headbands, that fit just over your ears. It was like a giant headband, but it covered your ears.
I did go thru the crochet links in the memories and did not find what I was looking for.
I make and donate the stuff to charity and I have a bunch of hats already made, so I want to make some of them too.
I want to get a heads up on the winter season. It gets so cold here.
