craftgrrl | a knitting question....

I am not sure if anyone can answer this here, but its worth a shot! My boyfriends mother just got some beautiful light wool to make a shawl out of for a wedding...now, the woman at the shop gave her a "simple pattern" to use, so she didnt have to buy one. the pattern, I (with my basic knitting skills) can't figure out. it is as follows
K1* forward K2 together repeat from *K1 last stitch
now, this shawl is just a block of knitting, not something triangular or anything like that, I am quite confused. Can anyone help with some simple instructions?
