craftgrrlI made this mirror a few years back and only recently got around to taking a photo of it. It's so hideous that I kind of love it.
I made it from a picture frame I found at a yard sale. I painted the frame with a glossy red acrylic. Then I used PolyFill or something like gesso, mixed blue paint with it, and slathered a thick layer of it on. I used the end of a paintbrush to scratch the design into it so that the red paint was visible from underneath. Then I varnished the whole thing, et voila.
I think I got the idea from a book at the time, but I can't remember which one.
