Silver Leaves
Jul. 8th, 2004 11:27 pmHere are some images of the first three pieces completed recently from my current commissions. These are the pendants for the two Bride's Maids and Maid of Honor for the wedding of a friend of mine. All three used that silver-clay (once fired, it's fine silver, .999 pure) I've been babb'ling about, along with "implanted" sterling bezels (and in one case, wire) and stone (sodalite) cabachons. What you see are the cut-out imprints of real leaves, not molded, etched or stamped designs. In life, the detail is much more intricate...the clay really does capture the must subtle of impressions. I crimped the bezels a little bit to make them more organic, and match the leaves better. And no, I didn't make the chains. All three are 16" sterling silver "magic" chains.
