craftgrrlI REALLY love box purses, but I'm too poor to go out and buy one, so I decided I'd make one with stuff I had around the house, since I'm a pack rat and I have a lot of junk.
The box itself is an old mini-speaker carrying case. I wanted to use a belt for the handle, but I don't have any belts that color coordinate. I had this old sticker I'd cut off of a box in graphics printing class in 9th grade (told you I'm a pack rat). It says "Flammabe Liquid" and just generally looks cool. I tried glueing it on, but evidently flimsy plastic, cardboard, and elmers don't adhere, so I found some paper fasteners, punched some holes, and tacked that sucker on there. I had some problems thinking of what else I could do to design the box, and initially just had stickers on there. I had these cute stickers that were made in China, and had anime-ish characters, and animals, and one set had frogs, and one of the stickers, upon closer inspection, has two frogs fucking! I grew up watching Discovery Channel, and National Geographic documentaries, so believe me, I know what it looks like. Suffice to say it's my favourite sticker. I got them at Big Lots, which is the best, it has crafty things, and tools and what not for relatively cheap! Anyway, but then I thought, I could use the paper fasteners to make designs on the box. But if anybody else has any ideas I'd LOVE to hear them. The box itself is black, the sticker is red and white, and the fasteners are gold, all together it has an almost industrial look.
My REAL question here is, can anybody think of anything else I could use, that's cheap and sturdy, for a handle? I'm checking Bealle's and some thrift stores for belts, but I wanted to hear your opinions first. ^_^
