i was dissatisfied with walmart's selection of frames. so, i opted for this $2 solid wood beauty, and spruced it up myself...

this is my favorite picture from college of my sorority sister julie and i. i know it's a wacked out picture, but there is a funny story behind it, so it has a lot of senimental value. :)

i cut strips of polka dot and striped backgrounds from a marta steward kids magazine that i'd bought a long time ago to make marble magnets. then i glued them to the frame using e6000! very simple!

i mitred the corners of the paper, and they didn't quite meet up, so i just added a little card stock piping between patterns. it ended up making them stand out better.

i printed the "sisters" out on my computer and glued it where there was a big white space in the pattern.

last i printed out a mat with a quote from my sorority and then added the picture!

it's kind of a full-on monet...pretty from far away, but a little messy up close. but i like it! i haven't done the edges...they are still ugly brown wood. i think for now i'll cover them in white card stock...and then once i get enough AOL cd's, i'll cut them up and use them to make a mirror mosaic around the edges.

does anyone else get high off e6000 when you use it for long periods of time? haha!
